Dedicated to the memory of Betty Treacy

Born in 1965 in Rathmines, Co. Dublin, Betty was the youngest sibling to Martin, Mary, Joe & Konrad. She was brought up in a family home, and after the tragic passing of her father Otto in 1967, her mother Attracta Ganter raised 5 beautiful children, while working full time as a mental health nurse.
Betty went to school in Dublin, followed by Art College. She had a very special creative flair and a particular eye for detail. These talents later abled her to work as a fashion designer, for some of the industry greats.
In 1984 Betty met the love of her life, Denis, in the Mount Clair hotel. After juggling jobs around Dublin, in 1986 they made an unexpected move across the pond to London. Four years later on the 25th August 1990, Betty & Denis married in Holy cross Abbey, Co. Tipperary surrounded by family and friends, many of whom Betty still kept in touch with. In 1992 their eldest daughter Niamh was born, followed by Roisin in 1995, Aisling in 1998 & then Megan in 2002. Betty raised 4 beautiful girls and was happily married for 30 years.
The Treacy’s family life in London was filled with love, adventure, and hard work. Betty supported her family in everything they did and truly believed that each of them could achieve anything they put their mind to. Most of all she believed in Denis. As one of the founding directors of the family company, Betty was the backbone behind not only a home full of happiness and love, but a growing and successful business.
Betty lived her life for her family, and her friends. Her smile was infectious and her hugs so special that they will always be remembered. Memories of her at the school gate, Parish functions and endless parties, but also memories of her kindness and help at times of sorrow will be treasured by all who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.
Betty’s passing has brought to light exactly how many lives she impacted in so many ways, across the world. Without her, the world is undoubtedly a darker place for us all. Her spirit will live on in Denis, Niamh, Roisin, Aisling and Megan and she has left us all with memories to inspire us to live our lives full of laughter, love, and kindness.
